1. Roast Level

  • Light Roasts → Pale crema, thinner texture

  • Medium Roasts → Golden-brown, balanced crema

  • Dark Roasts → Reddish to brown crema, thicker but short-lived


Roasting too dark can kill crema color with oily residue and charring. Roasting too light leaves you with a pale, bubbly head that collapses quickly.
