washed Colombian:
Charge temp: 198°C
Turnaround: 1:15
Dry end (yellowing): 4:30
First crack: 9:00
Drop: 11:00 (targeting 205–207°C BT)
Airflow: Low at charge → medium at color change → high after FC
Drum speed: 48 Hz until FC, then bump to 60 Hz

Maintenance and Upkeep: What They Don’t Tell You
Here’s the not-so-glamorous side of owning a Giesen roaster:
Clean the chaff collector every few batches.
Vacuum out the drum area weekly.
Check the catalytic converter (if you have one) monthly.
And calibrate your thermocouples at least twice a year.
Neglect these and suddenly your beans start developing off-notes—like “rubber tire” or “damp basement.” Not a vibe.
